A Winding Road

Bluebell Trail

I know of a winding road
that has its own beauty
with elegant–even stately trees
peppered up and down each side
Mountain laurels growing
in the lower vegetation
along with wild flowers of all colors
sprinkled here and there
A bunny stopped
in the middle of the road
for a minute not knowing where to go
A fawn laying in a small thicket
Its mother standing at attention
in the deep of the woods
While a grouse goes speedily by
I consider myself lucky
to know of such a place
And when I’m there realizing
at that time, I’m a part of it
I’m not sure where it goes
or what’s around every corner
but this path thru life
is beautiful so far
